Terms

These are the rules of the road for using Leaguebase. We've tried to make them readable. The short version up top isn't a substitute for the full sections, but it'll give you the shape of the agreement before you dive in.

01The short version

  • Leaguebase is a clubhouse layered on Sleeper, Yahoo, and ESPN. You bring your league; we provide editorial content, analytics, social, and history.
  • A League Pass is billed once per league. The season fee is $10 per team in the league, based on your Sleeper or Yahoo team slots, not how many people sign up (members and fans never count as extra seats). Every league gets a 30-day free trial, no credit card required to start.
  • Be a decent person. No harassment, no doxxing, no spam, no scraping, no bypassing moderation. Standard stuff.
  • You own your content. You give us a limited license to host and display it inside the leagues you choose to share it with.
  • AI-assisted content is a tool, not an authority. Editorial drafts are starting points; you and your league decide what gets published.
  • We're not your fantasy platform. Sleeper, Yahoo, and the NFL/NBA/MLB run their own services with their own terms. We just sync the data.
  • You can leave any time from Settings. Subscriptions don't auto-renew silently. We'll always tell you before the next charge.

02The agreement

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Leaguebase (“Leaguebase,” “we,” “us”). They cover your access to and use of the Leaguebase web application, native mobile apps, mobile-installable PWA, APIs, email, and push notifications (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're using Leaguebase on behalf of a league, organization, or other group, you represent that you have authority to bind that group to these Terms.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Leaguebase. If you're between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms with you. Leaguebase is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to register.

You also confirm that you're not on a US sanctions list and that you're not located in a country subject to a US government embargo.

04Your account

You can sign in with email and password or with a single-use email magic link. You're responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and for everything that happens under your account, so use a strong password and don't share your magic links.

You agree to provide accurate sign-up information (a real email you control, your real display name) and to keep it current. You may not impersonate anyone else, create accounts on behalf of someone without their permission, or run automated/“bot” accounts unless we've authorized them in writing.

You can close your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. See section 12 for what happens when an account is closed.

05Plans, trials, and billing

Free trial

Every league starts with a 30-day free trial. The trial includes everything in the paid tier (Storyline pipeline, player analytics, Pick'em, Calendar, Messages, History) and does not require a credit card to start.

Paid plans

When the 30-day trial ends, the league must be activated on a paid plan to keep the clubhouse open. The season fee is $10 per team, based on the number of team slots in your league (the count your fantasy platform reports), not how many people have joined. Members and fans don't count toward the price. There are three plans:

  • Admin Pays: the league admin who created the league pays the $10-per-team season fee.
  • Manager Pays: same $10-per-team season fee, but any league manager (including a co-admin) can run checkout. We surface a banner on every page until someone activates.
  • Sugar Daddy Pass: an account-level subscription attached to one user. While active, it covers every league that user is a member of, current and future, with no per-league fees.

Members and fans are never charged individually just for joining: only the league's team slots count toward the seat price, and that count is locked at activation for the whole season, so nobody gets a mid-season surcharge. A manager may choose to activate the shared league under the Manager Pays option. Plans are switchable any time from Billing settings.

When a plan lapses

If a renewal payment fails, the league enters a short grace period while we retry the card. If it still isn't paid, or a trial ends without activation, the league goes read-only: members can still read the feed, history, and editorial, but posting, reactions, comments, and direct messages are paused until any member reactivates it from the billing page. No data is deleted.

How payment works

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered into Stripe directly and never stored on our servers. Authoritative billing records (subscription state, period dates, payment receipts) live on your league's billing page (Dashboard → choose a league → Billing).

Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew at the start of each season. We'll email the billing owner at least 14 days before a renewal charge. You can cancel at any time from your league's billing page (Dashboard → choose a league → Billing). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current season; the league keeps full access through that period.

Refunds

Refunds are not automatic, but we're reasonable people. If something goes wrong on our side (extended outage, billing error, a feature broken in a way that materially affected your season), email support@leaguebase.com and we'll work with you. Refund requests for change-of-mind cancellations are evaluated case-by-case.

Taxes

Prices shown in-product are exclusive of any taxes or fees that may apply in your jurisdiction. If we're legally required to collect tax on a transaction, we'll add it at checkout and itemize it on your receipt.

Pricing changes

We may change pricing for future seasons. We won't raise the price of a subscription you've already paid for. If a renewal price increases, we'll tell you in the renewal email and you can decline the renewal before it charges.

06Roles inside a league

Each league has three role types, each with different responsibilities under these Terms.

League Admins

League admins create the league inside Leaguebase, connect it to Sleeper, Yahoo, or ESPN, manage the editorial pipeline, configure visibility and notification defaults, and (for paid leagues) own the subscription. By connecting a league, a league admin represents that they have the authority from the league to do so. League admins are responsible for their league's compliance with these Terms, including the Acceptable Use rules in section 07.

Members (managers)

Members are the people who manage teams in the connected fantasy league. Members can post in the feed, comment, react, send DMs, vote in polls, RSVP to calendar events, and play Pick'em.

Fans

Fans are non-roster invitees (a partner, a friend, a follower). Fans can read the feed and editorial content per the league's visibility settings, but cannot manage rosters or vote in admin-only flows.

07Acceptable use

Leaguebase exists to make leagues better: funnier, more connected, more memorable. To protect that, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or stalk other users; post hateful, racist, or sexually explicit content; or doxx anyone.
  • Impersonate other people, brands, or Leaguebase itself.
  • Post malware, phishing links, or attempts to compromise other accounts.
  • Spam the feed, DMs, or comments with promotional or off-topic content.
  • Automate, scrape, mirror, or otherwise harvest content from Leaguebase, except as we explicitly allow.
  • Reverse-engineer the Service or attempt to bypass rate limits, paywalls, or moderation actions taken against you.
  • Use the Service to violate any law, including gambling laws in jurisdictions where fantasy gambling is regulated.
  • Upload someone else's content (text, images, video) that you don't have the rights to share.
  • Misrepresent your identity to bypass moderation, evade a ban, or claim a team that isn't yours.

Reports of abuse can be filed in-product or by emailing trust@leaguebase.com. We review reports and may mute, suspend, or ban accounts that violate these rules. See section 12.

08Your content

You own everything you create on Leaguebase: your posts, comments, reactions, picks, polls, calendar events, uploaded images, league branding assets, and any artifacts you author or edit (collectively, “Your Content”).

To run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, format, and create the technical adaptations needed to deliver Your Content to the leagues and audiences you choose to share it with. This license lasts only as long as needed for those purposes (for example, until you delete the content or close your account).

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that Your Content doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.

We may remove Your Content if it violates these Terms, our community standards, or applicable law, or in response to a valid legal request. Where appropriate we'll notify you and explain why.

Copyright

If you believe content on Leaguebase infringes your copyright, send a notice with the information required by the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) to copyright@leaguebase.com. We'll process valid notices and take appropriate action, including counter-notice handling.

09AI-assisted editorial content

Several Leaguebase features use AI to help authors draft editorial content: Power Rankings summaries, Weekly Recaps, Awards, Matchup Previews, and player-news classification. Here's what that means in practice:

  • AI output is a starting point, not the final word. Drafts are reviewed and may be edited by a human (typically a league admin) before they're published to the feed. We label generated content clearly inside the editor.
  • AI can be wrong. Generated text may contain factual mistakes, weird phrasing, or misattributions. Don't treat it as authoritative for fantasy advice, gambling decisions, or real-world claims about players.
  • Your content is not used to train external models. Inputs to AI sub-processors are treated as transactional context for that single request.
  • You're responsible for what you publish. Once a draft is approved and posted, it becomes Your Content under section 08 with the same rights and obligations.

10Third-party fantasy platforms

Leaguebase integrates with Sleeper, Yahoo Fantasy, and ESPN Fantasy, and may add others in the future. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sleeper, Yahoo, ESPN, The Walt Disney Company, the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, or any team or league.

Your use of those platforms remains governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We respect their rate limits, only access what their APIs make available, and will disconnect a league when asked. If a fantasy platform changes its API or terms in a way that requires us to stop a feature, we'll tell you and (where possible) provide an alternative.

11Feedback

We love hearing from commissioners and members about what's working and what isn't. If you send us feedback, suggestions, or feature requests, you grant us the right to use that feedback freely without compensation, attribution, or restriction. We're not obligated to act on any specific piece of feedback, but we read all of it.

12Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (in whole or in part) if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service in a way that endangers other users or the platform, or if we're required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we'll explain why and give you a chance to correct the issue.

You can close your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. If you're a league's primary admin, you must first transfer that role so the shared league isn't left without an owner. Account closure has a 72-hour cooling-off window, and during that window you can cancel the request from the same screen. After the cooling-off period:

  • Your personal account information is anonymized in our active systems.
  • Your uploaded media, feed posts, and comments are removed; direct-message contents are cleared and detached from your identity.
  • Shared league membership records, standings, and storyline/history artifacts may be retained so the league's historical record still works for other members, with your byline scrubbed.
  • Limited billing, security, and abuse-prevention records are retained only as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Backups containing your data age off on a finite schedule, as described in our Privacy Policy.

13Disclaimers

We work hard to make Leaguebase reliable and useful, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that any defects will be corrected; or that AI-assisted content will be accurate. Editorial content, analytics, and player-news classification are not fantasy, betting, or financial advice.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the disclaimer of certain implied warranties. In those places, the disclaimer applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14Limits on our liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leaguebase will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenues, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to the Service.

Our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service during that period, or (b) USD $100.

These limits are an essential part of the agreement and apply even if a remedy is found to have failed of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits in full; where that's the case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

15Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Leaguebase and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising out of (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, (b) Your Content, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right. We'll tell you promptly about any claim and cooperate reasonably in your defense.

16Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@leaguebase.com and try to resolve the dispute informally. We'll do the same.

If you live in a jurisdiction where consumer law gives you stronger protections than the rules above (for example, the right to bring a claim in your local courts), nothing in these Terms is intended to override those protections.

17Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we'll post a changelog at the top of this page and email account-holders at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't, you can close your account before the change takes effect.

18Contact us

For anything in this document (billing questions, takedown requests, feedback on the Terms themselves), email support@leaguebase.com. For copyright notices, use copyright@leaguebase.com. For abuse reports, use trust@leaguebase.com.
